Gov. David Paterson appointed Roberrt Megna as director of the state Division of the which advises governors on financial mattersa and helps craft their budget proposaldseach year. Megna’s annual salary will be $178,000, and he startas on June 15. His appointment does not need approval from thestate Senate. Megnaq replaces Laura Anglin, who is leaving the budget division to head the Commission on Independen Collegesand Universities, which lobbies the states and federal governments on behalf of 111 private, nonprofir colleges and universities in New Anglin will serve as an adviser to Megna until July 15, and then begin her new job at the Megna had previously served as commission of the statee Department of Taxation and He has also worked in other jobs with the statde budget division and the Legislature.
On Paterson also announced that Jamie Woodward will take over for Megnaw at thetax department. Woodward graduated from in Troy in and earned a law degree from AlbanyyLaw School. She also holdse an accounting certificate fromin Loudonville. Woodward has been with the tax departmensince 1980. She will continue to servew as its executive deputy commissioner while also servingy asacting commissioner. Her annual salary will remai $154,300. Woodward begins her dutiesz as acting commissioner onJune 15, the day Megnsa starts his new job at the budget division.
